Welcome to The Beauty of Simple Things

Many years ago, when I was eleven years old, I first tried my hand at self-publishing my ramblings using an ancient computer, Microsoft Word, and a barely functional printer. My publication was called Rachel’s News, and one of my recurring columns was titled “The Beauty of Simple Things.” I wrote about the beauty of clothes drying on a line outside, the joy of doing chores, and watching goats frolicking in the early morning air.

Now, many years later, I have decided to once more share my ramblings with the world. It seems only fitting to borrow from a younger, though perhaps wiser version of myself, and title this website “The Beauty of Simple Things.”

I currently live in the gorgeous Shenandoah Valley, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, constant reminders of God’s love for me. Each day I try to embrace the glory of God, man, and creation with fresh eyes and joyous wonder. I hope that my words might help you to see the world in new light, or rather in a light that is ever ancient, ever new.

For a more detailed introduction, check out my post below:

My writing covers a range of interests, but usually focuses on the following:

1. Reflections on God and Salvation

2. Appreciating the Beauty of the Natural World

3. Navigating the World of Technology

4. Living a Simple Life in the Present Moment
